Postdoctoral Research Associate: Inheritance, Families and the Market in Nineteenth and Twentieth-Century Britain
University of Cambridge – Faculty of History, 22 months full-time (or part-time by negotiation)
Applicants are sought for the position of Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) on a Philomathia Foundation and Isaac Newton Trust funded project, Inheritance, families and the market in nineteenth and twentieth-Century Britain, led by Professor Martin Daunton (University of Cambridge), Professor David Green (King’s College London) and Dr Alastair Owens (Queen Mary, University of London). The main responsibility of the post holder will be to undertake archival research using taxation, legal and administrative records, family and personal papers, and other historical documents. Although there will be a possibility of spending some of the post at Cambridge, the majority of the work will be undertaken in archives in London and the post holder will have a base at Queen Mary, University of London. The preferred start date is 1 July 2012.
